If you are not very good or adept at mixing the colours of the clothes that you wear you can always opt for the one colour look which has always been perfectly acceptable.
This is a very easy way of dressing and you really can’t go wrong. For example a pair of black trousers mixed with a black silk blouse and black high heeled boots will look just great and even better if you wear the outfit with one of those large coloured crystal rings and a black belt worn at hip level with an enormous crystal buckle.
If you get into the habit of buying the majority of your clothes in black for example, but it could be brown, grey or white etc, then you can mix and match black skirts with black jackets, black trousers with black jumpers or cardigans and you really don’t have to spend much thought on what you wear when you get dressed in the mornings.
It might seem very boring to be all in one colour but it need not be strictly one colour because what you do is buy additional items of clothing that do have some colour, or have a flowered or geometric print and incorporate these into your black outfit.Â
For example a pair of black trousers with a black jacket over let’s say a flowered print blouse in white, cerise and emerald green will look very stunning.
A black skirt and black polo neck jumper worn with a red belt and red baggy boots to liven the outfit up or another idea is with a tan leather belt and tan baggy boots as black and tan look very elegant together.
Shopping to dress like this means you look for all your basics in black which is quite easy and then you have the rest of the time left to more carefully choose original blouses, tops and accessories in colours which complement black.
