Now that summer is here and we can no longer wear those boots and closed shoes which hid away our feet from the public eye, it is time to give some attention to our feet before we put those skimpy sandals on.
Feet that have been confined in tight fitting shoes all winter long might have suffered a bit and may not be looking their best, so the first thing we have to do is give them a face lift as it were!
It’s a good idea, if you have started to notice any bumps or bulges which could be corns or bunions, to start off by visiting a chiropodist so that he can give you some treatment and stop them from getting any worse.
Now that you have made sure that the medical side of things is okay you can now get down to making them look pretty and worthy of looking at. Arrange for a pedicure where they will be able to do this all for you.

Perfumes Perfumes are a finishing touch to any fashionable piece of clothing that you wear, they are the element that you can’t see but do a lot in creating an impression about you. There are so many out there on the market and with new ones always being produced it is sometimes hard to know how and which to choose. We all have different skins and perfumes change from one person to another. You might know a friend who uses a certain perfume that smells fantastic but when you try it yourself it just doesn’t seem the same.

So you have to go to a good perfume department and dedicate some time to smelling quite a few. A good sales assistant will help you and if you tell her what type of perfume you are aiming for, for example strong and musty or cool and fresh or warm, she will at least know the ones to steer you towards. Nowadays you get strips of testing paper on which you squirt a bit of perfume onto so that you can get a idea of what it smells like. (read more…)
A couple of years ago a firm called Pandora became one of the first to bring out the customizable charm bracelet and also to bring back into fashion the idea of the old charm bracelet which was so popular years ago.
Since then many other firms have copied the idea and so there is an abundance of different designs from different firms out there in the jeweller shops to choose from.

The system is quite simple and really very ingenious. You start off by buying the either gold or silver coil bracelet and then you decide which charms you are going to put on it.
The charms are round with a hole in the middle which you just slide your bracelet through and there is no end to the different types you can choose from. Just to mention a few of the charms you could choose from would be semi-precious stones, a key or a heart, pearls, ones encrusted with zircons, poker dot ones and so on.
The good thing about this is that while the bracelet, in the case of the silver one, is not that expensive, the charms are and are almost the price of the bracelet itself if not more in some cases, but you can buy the charms one by one and slowly build up.

If you are not very good or adept at mixing the colours of the clothes that you wear you can always opt for the one colour look which has always been perfectly acceptable.
This is a very easy way of dressing and you really can’t go wrong. For example a pair of black trousers mixed with a black silk blouse and black high heeled boots will look just great and even better if you wear the outfit with one of those large coloured crystal rings and a black belt worn at hip level with an enormous crystal buckle.
If you get into the habit of buying the majority of your clothes in black for example, but it could be brown, grey or white etc, then you can mix and match black skirts with black jackets, black trousers with black jumpers or cardigans and you really don’t have to spend much thought on what you wear when you get dressed in the mornings.
It might seem very boring to be all in one colour but it need not be strictly one colour because what you do is buy additional items of clothing that do have some colour, or have a flowered or geometric print and incorporate these into your black outfit. (read more…)
